Patrollers Starting September 14
Our HMS School Patrollers will begin their duties on Monday. We are proud of these students for stepping up to help keep our school community safe.
This is a great time to review crosswalk safety at home, both at our patrolled crosswalks and others in the community. Please remind children (and model as adults!) to:
- Stop and look both ways before crossing.
- Wait for the Patrollers’ signal at patrolled crosswalks.
- Use the same safe habits at other crosswalks, even when no Patrollers are present.
- Stay alert and avoid distractions like phones or headphones while crossing.
Drivers: Please slow down in school zones, watch for students at all crossings, and be prepared to stop, even at crosswalks without Patrollers. Your attention helps keep everyone safe. Thank you for helping keep our students safe on their way to and from school!
