🌸 Let’s Help Haultain Bloom! 🌸

Spring is in the air, Mother’s Day is around the corner, and it’s time for one of our favorite fundraisers — Growing Smiles! 🌼🌷

When you purchase beautiful, locally grown plants through our fundraiser, you’re not just brightening your yard or surprising someone special, you’re directly supporting the students of Haultain Memorial School.

Our goal? 300 plants sold! 🌿

Funds raised will support incredible extracurricular experiences like swimming lessons, field trips to the zoo and science centre, our upcoming Quest Theatre Residency, and so many other enriching activities for our kids.

Let’s come together as a school community and make Haultain bloom inside and out! 💛

Order your spring flowers today and help us grow something amazing.

Gymnastics Unit

We are beginning our much-anticipated gymnastics unit in Physical Education. Safety is our top priority. From March 2–6, students will review safety routines and practice foundational skills on mats. From March 16–19, classes will begin using larger equipment, including the Canadian Climber, with safety expectations reviewed regularly.

To help your child participate safely and comfortably each day, please ensure they are prepared with:

  • Clothing that allows free movement
    - No hoodies, skirts/dresses, or loose/baggy items that may get caught on equipment.
  • A single-layer shirt (tucked in is helpful)
  • All jewelry removed; long hair tied back
  • Indoor running shoes (preferred) or gymnastics slippers
  • Optional: shorts or leggings worn under clothing

Throughout this unit, students will practise cooperation, sportsmanship, and safe movement. Please review the following key guidelines with your child:

  • Work independently or in small groups quietly to avoid distractions
  • Only attempt movements they feel comfortable with—no showing off or risky behaviour
  • No pyramid building, forward rolls, or backward rolls (CBE safety policy)
  • Follow all teacher instructions for safe movement; unsafe behaviour may result in sitting out
  • No aerials or advanced skills outside the CBE-approved list, even for students with private training

If you have any questions about the unit or safety expectations, please contact your child’s teacher.

Quest Theatre Residency – Creating Stories Through the Seven Sacred Teachings

We will be welcoming Quest Theatre for a Creation-style residency at Haultain Memorial School during the week of March 9. Each class will use an assigned Seven Sacred Teaching as an inspirational starting point to build an original story with the visiting artists. Because the artists are not Indigenous, the teachings will guide the creative themes rather than serve as cultural instruction. Students’ own understanding and interpretations will shape the direction of each story, sometimes in imaginative or unexpected ways, while staying rooted in the core meaning of the teaching.

At the end of the residency, families are invited to join us for a student performance on Friday, March 13 from 10:30–11:30 a.m.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous donors who support Quest Theatre’s charitable programming for providing a significantly subsidized fee, and to our Haultain School Council for funding the remaining portion. Their support makes this rich creative experience possible for all our students.

We look forward to an inspiring week of storytelling and collaboration.
