Thank you to everyone who participated in our school planning engagement. We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together.  

The feedback we received is compiled at the link below and will be thoughtfully considered in making decisions about school planning.  

REMINDER - Child Safe Canada Student Safety Courses at HMS (please send in form(s) and payment) 

We are pleased to offer two Child Safe Canada safety courses for students at Haultain Memorial School this spring. These programs help students build confidence, independence, and practical safety skills for everyday situations. 

Home Alone Course 
This course helps students learn how to stay safe when they are home on their own. Topics include safety rules, handling emergencies, basic first aid awareness, and how to make safe decisions. 

  • Date: April 13 & 14, 2026 
  • Time: 11:58 AM – 12:41 PM 
  • Location: HMS Learning Commons 
  • Cost: $15 per participant 

Note: The full cost of this course is $30. Thanks to support from the HMS Parents Association, the fee for HMS students has been subsidized to $15. 

Babysitting Course 
Students will learn important skills for responsible babysitting, including caring for children, basic first aid awareness, safe play ideas, and how to respond in common situations. 

  • Dates: April 27–30 and May 4–5 
  • Time: 11:58 AM – 12:41 PM 
  • Cost: $25 per participant 

Note: The full cost of this course is $55. The HMS Parents Association has generously subsidized the fee, reducing the cost to $25 per student. 

Registration Details 

  • Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • To register, please print and complete the attached form (attached in the right side bar under Related Information) and return it to the school with payment (cash or cheque payable to Child Safe Canada).
