Lunchroom 

All students may stay at school over the lunch break to eat their lunch and have an active living break. Once the system has been updated, you will be able to register and pay for the lunchroom program via your myCBE Account. 

Please note, we are operating under the assumption that all students will be staying for lunch. If your child will be going home for lunch, please let the school know so we do not include them on our lunchroom attendance lists. 

Ice Cream Social | Open House | Book Truck 

Our amazing School Council is hosting an informal get-together on Thursday, September 12 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. This open-house event in meant as a meet-and-greet, or mix-and-mingle type of gathering. Teachers will be in attendance, so families have a chance to meet their child(ren)’s teacher(s) in a relaxed setting. School Council will have ice cream treats and popsicles available for the young and young at heart. We will be gathering outside the school in the back (south side) tarmac area. 

This year we have some added fun! The Calgary Public Library Book Truck will be here so bring your Public Library card and pop in to get some books (for all ages). 

School Council/Parent Association | Annual General Meeting 

Our upcoming HMS School Council will once again be in-person. Please join us in the Learning Commons on Monday, September 16 at 6:30. This AGM is an important meeting as we will be electing the School Council Executive. If you are a parent of a Haultain Memorial student, you are welcome and encouraged to join us for this important meeting. Immediately following the Parent Council Meeting, you can be a part of helping to plan how to raise and allocate funds for items such as a new playground, school enhancement and family events at the Parent Association Meeting

Playground Grand Opening | Hosted by School Council 

School Council is hosting a Playground Grand Opening on Saturday, September 21, 2024, and everyone is invited. We plan on celebrating from 10 am to 2 pm with BBQ food, community vendors, kids' activities, and of course a new playground! We hope to see you all there. 

Owl’s Nest Book Fair 

We are excited to be hosting a book fair with Owl’s Nest Book Store the week of September 23. Students will have an opportunity to preview books and create wish lists on Monday, September 23, and purchase books during their library time on Wednesday, September 25. Families are welcome to come in on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26 from 3:07- 6:00 PM as well as Friday, September 27, from 8:00 – 11:00 AM. You can also order online, until October 4, just be sure to use the promo code HAULTAIN at the checkout. School Conferences 

School Conferences are scheduled for September 25 and 26 from 3:30 – 6:00 and from 8:00 – 11:00 on Friday, September 27. These conversations are intended to be an opportunity to set some early learning goals and for us to understand how we can best support your child in their learning. 

We strongly encourage parents to include their children as part of the conference. This allows students to have a voice in their learning goals and to take personal responsibility for their learning. 

Online registration for meeting times can be found through your myCBE account. This system opens at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, September 18. Once signed in, click on “myCBE” then click on “my School Conferences.” 

Student Code of Conduct

Families are asked to read through the CBE’s Student Code of Conduct. This document outlines guiding principles and responsibilities as to what is expected from students and parents with respect to the school.  Our teachers have been reviewing the concepts contained within this document with our students this week, using developmentally appropriate language and examples.
