Drumming Evening Performance
During this last week of October students will be participating in a drumming residency with One World Drum Co. As a celebration of our learning there will be an evening performance on Thursday, October 26 at 6 pm. The performance will be about an hour long and all students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be performing. Families are invited and asked to arrive at 5:40 PM to ensure students can get to their classrooms before the performance.
Reminder | Second Annual Pumpkinella Showcase
All HMS students & families are invited to bring in a carved or decorated pumpkin on Tuesday October 31st for our Pumpkinella Showcase. This is your chance to share your creativity with our school community and have fun as a family in the process!
Design, carve or dress up a pumpkin to bring to school for display in one of the following categories: Book Characters, animals, cartoons, famous people, original creation, or sports.
This is meant to be a fun event, not a scary experience. Please refrain from exhibiting excessive blood and gore or violence in your pumpkin creations. Please do not send real candles or lights!
Bring your pumpkin to the learning commons on the morning of Monday October 31st between 7:45 - 8:30am. Be sure to identify the student or family who is the artist of each pumpkin creation! The pumpkins may have a safer journey if they are brought to us by mom or dad!
Please follow the direction of the parents and staff who will help you to set up your pumpkin in the 'pumpkin patch'.
Classes will have the opportunity to experience the Pumpkinella Pumpkin Patch during the day on October 31st. All pumpkins will be sent home at the end of the day to be showcased on your front step in the evening. Thank you to Ms. Eshom for organizing this fun event and for the Student Leadership Club for promoting it with our students.
