Don’t Miss Out on School Messages

We use SchoolMessenger to send email, text (SMS) and voice messages from our school and from the CBE. Here are some steps you can take if you're missing some of our messages.

Subscribe For Commercial Messages

Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, parents and guardians need to subscribe online to receive some email and text messages on topics like student fees, picture days, field trip costs, yearbooks, fun lunches and more.

Opt In for Text Messages

In addition, to receive any text (SMS) messages from our school or The Calgary Board of Education, you must opt in for texts. Use the cell phone on file with the school to text the word YES to the six-digit number 978338 .

There is no extra cost to receive SMS messages from CBE, but standard message rates and data charges from your carrier apply when you receive messages from us. See all terms and conditions at www.cbe.ab.ca/SMS .

For more information, visit www.cbe.ab.ca/subscribe or view common Questions and Answers

Thank You, Indigo Love of Reading

We are incredibly grateful to share that our school community received close to $19,000 through the Indigo Love of Reading Adopt a School program. This amazing support will help us grow our library and Learning Commons with new, high-interest books that reflect our students, their identities, and their interests.

Thank you to Indigo, to the Indigo staff who championed our school, and to all the families, friends, and community members who donated and spread the word. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on our students’ love of reading, curiosity, and success for years to come.

November School Conferences

School Conferences are coming up soon. Conference Booking is now open, and you can sign up through your MyCBE account. School Conferences provide time for families to discuss their child’s progress and achievement in relation to the intended learning goals. This is also a time for teachers to share evidence of individual student progress and achievement. These conferences are one of the formal reporting opportunities the CBE has structured to ensure families understand their child’s achievement over the course of the reporting period. The next formal reporting opportunity will be through report cards in the new year.

HELP Needed | Parent Association | Casino

The Haultain Memorial School Parent Association needs volunteers to support our upcoming Casino at Deerfoot Inn and Casino on December 19 and 20, 2025. This is our major fundraiser and supports many activities/programs at our school.  Please sign up with the following link: https://bit.ly/HMScasino

Reading, Re-Using, and Raising Used Book Sale

Our Student Leadership Club is hosting a Used Book Sale on November 24 and 26 during lunch hour. All books are only $1 each, and funds raised will support in-school presentations, field trips, and other special school events that enrich student learning.

This event connects to the Seven Sacred Teachings of Respect and Love. By re-using books, we show Respect for the Land and help care for our environment. By sharing stories, we show Love for learning, our community, and one another.

Money can be sent to school with students on November 24 and/or 26. If books remain, we will open again from 4:00 – 6:30 on Wednesday and Thursday to coincide with School Conferences so families can browse together.
