Year End Grade 6 Moving-On Assembly | June 21, 2024, 10:30

We are pleased to invite families to the school for an in-person year end assembly. This final gathering will serve as an opportunity to acknowledge and say farewell to our most senior students, our grade sixes. Everyone is welcome to attend the assembly, and the families of our grade six students are welcome to stay afterward for a short social gathering in the gym. There will be some refreshments and a photo booth. The assembly will start at 10:30. Please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes early to ensure ample time to find a seat.

Well-being Clubs

On June 18, we are having a morning of clubs focused on well-being. Students will choose three different clubs to engage in. Clubs being offered include mindful mandalas, yoga, reading in nature, creating a playlist, kindness rocks, fitness fun and coding to show what you love about yourself. This connects to our SDP Well-being Goal of supporting students with self-regulation as well as the KUSPs of the PE and Wellness curriculum and the CBE’s Student Well-being Framework. “With a healthy mind, body, and spirit, students are empowered to experience success at school (Alberta Education, 2022)”.

Reminder | School Spirit Days | Student Leadership Team

The Student Leadership Team is excited to announce a few weeks of creativity and camaraderie here at HMS! Get ready to showcase your unique style and spirit as we celebrate a series of themed days. Mark your calendars because each day promises to be more exciting than the last! There are two more Spirit Days ahead.

Backwards Day – Monday, June 24: Step into the whimsical world of Backwards Day! Wear your clothes inside out or backward, walk backward in the halls, and even speak in reverse (if you dare!). It's a day where everything is topsy-turvy, and the fun never stops!

Hawaiian Beach Day - Wednesday, June 26: Escape to a tropical paradise without leaving school! Grab your board shorts, leis, Hawaiian shirts, and sunglasses as we transform HMS into a beach oasis. It’s also Active Living Day so get ready to soak up the sun and surf vibes.

Remember, participation is voluntary but highly encouraged. Let's make the last few weeks of school memorable by embracing the themes, spreading positivity, and celebrating our diverse community.

We can't wait to see everyone's enthusiasm and creativity on display during our themed days.
