Thank You, Indigo

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation for selecting Haultain Memorial School as a recipient of the Adopt a School grant. This generous support has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our students and our culture of reading.

We are also deeply grateful to the incredible staff at Indigo Signal Hill, who thoughtfully hand-picked bags of brand-new books for our students. These beautiful book bundles were delivered on the last day of school in December, creating a moment of joy, excitement, and connection to reading that our students will remember.

Many more new books have already begun arriving at our school and the excitement is building. We will continue placing additional orders in the coming days and weeks to further expand our classroom and school library collections, ensuring students have ongoing access to high-quality, engaging books that reflect their interests, identities, and learning needs.

Because of this generosity, more children have access to high-quality, engaging books they can see themselves in, strengthening literacy, fostering a love of reading, and supporting belonging in our school community.

School Council & Parent Society Meetings | January 12, 2026, 6:30 PM

Haultain Memorial School families are warmly invited to attend our School Council and Parent Society (HMSPA) meetings on Monday, January 12 at 6:30 PM in the Learning Commons.

These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Learn more about what’s happening at our school
  • Share ideas, questions, and feedback
  • Help shape decisions that support student learning, well-being, and belonging
  • Connect with other parents, caregivers, and school staff

This month, we are pleased to feature a presentation from our Grade 1/2 teaching team, who will be sharing highlights from their classrooms and how they support student learning, well-being, and belonging.

All parents and guardians are welcome, whether you’re new to the school or a returning family. Your voice and perspective matter, and we would love to see you there. We look forward to connecting and working together in support of our HMS community. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join online using the link below.

Interested in our grade 7 Late French Immersion program? Learning French offers students significant linguistic, academic and cognitive benefits. It opens doors to knowledge, communication, culture and travel, and gives graduates an edge in the global job market. Our grade 7 late French immersion program provides students with the opportunity to become highly functional in speaking, reading, writing, listening and communicating in French by the end of Grade 12. Our program is also designed for students whose first language is not French, so no prior French is required!

Jump Rope for Heart

Our school is proud to be participating in Heart & Stroke’s Jump Rope for Heart starting on January 27. Students will learn EASY healthy habits and raise funds to support lifesaving heart and brain research. Help us reach our fundraising goal by donating or registering to create your own fundraising page to share with family and friends.
