Reminder | Student Leadership Club/HMSPA Reverse Bottle Drive
The Student Leadership Club is teaming up with the Haultain Memorial School Parents Association (HMSPA) to run a Reverse Bottle Drive on February 10, 2025, at the school. This fun and eco-friendly event is a unique way to raise funds for our school while also helping the environment. Instead of bringing in bottles and cans to recycle at the depot, we are encouraging everyone to collect and donate their empties!
How Does It Work? It's simple! Over the next few weeks, we invite all students and families to gather up their empty bottles, cans, and other recyclable beverage containers. Rather than dropping them off at your local recycling depot, bring them to school, where we’ll collect and sort them for you. All the proceeds will go directly towards supporting school activities, field trips (including our upcoming swim program), supplementary classroom supplies, and more!
Event Details:
- Date: February 10, 8:15 – 10:15 am
- Drop-off Locations: Bring your empties (in bags or boxes) to the front of the school where we will have student leaders and volunteers ready to take them off your hands.
- Why Participate? Not only does this event help reduce waste and promote sustainability, but it also supports the programs and events that make our school a great place for our students to learn and grow. It’s an excellent opportunity for families to get involved and make a positive impact on both our community and the planet.
So, let’s make this Reverse Bottle Drive a huge success! Start collecting your bottles and cans, and let’s work together to reach our fundraising goals.
Thank you for your support!

Jump Rope for Heart
Did you know that your heart beats around 100 000 times each day? That’s almost 70 beats per minute! We have been keeping our hearts strong by getting active and engaging in physical activity such as jumping rope. During our kickoff assembly our “Student Jump Team” showcased a variety of skipping skills and inspired us to get jumping!
Students and families are invited to collect donations for the Heart & Stroke Foundation to help them advance life-saving research and provide education about heart disease and stroke prevention. Our Jump Rope for Heart fundraising campaign will be open until February 25, 2025. We have a school goal of raising $500.
- Join the Haultain Memorial fundraising page and register your child at https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/80799.

On Wednesday, February 12, families are invited to join us for our Jump Event Day. Students will be practicing their skipping skills and celebrating being active. The event will occur during each classroom’s gym time. Teachers will share information with families about what time their class will be skipping. We hope you can come jump with us!
