We will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day on September 26, this year, as September 30 falls on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a holiday. Orange Shirt Day provides an opportunity to honor the survivors of residential schools and reflect on the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous communities. As part of this recognition, students will engage in age-appropriate learning activities that align with the Alberta Curriculum, and these lessons will be part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and awareness moving forward. We encourage all students and staff to wear orange on September 26 to show support and solidarity in this important journey.
