Halloween at HMS

Students are invited to celebrate Halloween by dressing up on October 31.

To help keep the day safe and fun for everyone, here are a few reminders about costumes:

  • Costumes should be easy to put on and take off if needed.
  • Students should be able to move comfortably – we will still have PE and recess.
  • Avoid items that could get caught on playground equipment (scarves, long belts, etc.).
  • Keep in mind that some of our younger students may be sensitive to scary or gory costumes.
  • Accessories often get lost, so we encourage keeping them to a minimum.
  • No masks, please – simple face paint is a great alternative.

In short: simple is better!

As much as we appreciate the treats that often come with Halloween, we kindly ask that no food items be sent in due to the variety of allergies and sensitivities in our school community.

We can’t wait to see the creative and fun costumes our HMS students come up with.
